While going to Dodra kawar Villages you will be covering the Pabbar valley. Beautifully situated beside pabber river. Then while going to Dodra kawar you have to cross beautiful Chanshal Pass. If you have extra time, then you can cover Chanshal lake which is known as Saru lake Locally. Saru/Chanshal lake can be only reached through a short trek of around 8 Kms. Only options to stay at Chanshal pass or lake are Camping. Later you will be covering dense forest, called Kala Pani locally. Firstly, you will reach Dodra village which is very beautiful and Purely heritage. Later, you can roam around many villages like Jiskun, Jakha, Pandaar and Kawar Villages. Dodra Kawar villages are famous for its beautiful Temples in every village, wooden houses and its rich culture. Jiskun and Jakha (the hanging village) are also famous for Rupin Pass Trek. Chanshal Pass is the highest pass in Shimla district. This destination is ideal for camping and short trekking due to its elevation of 14,830 feet. Chanshal Pass connects Dodra Kawar villages and Rohru/Chirgaon Area through a road in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. This pass is only accessible from May to October, but it has snow-covered mountains almost throughout the rest of the year. Chanshal pass is one of the best camping and sunset sites in Himachal. One can camp there or can choose the Chanshal lake trek which is a short trek of only 2 days. If you have never trekked before, then Chanshal Lake Trek is the perfect option for you. There are a few steep sections, but the trek is almost straight and 8km long. For nature lovers, this place is truly heaven. It's worth seeing the sunset there.
Chandernahan Lakes Trek is one of the most beautiful trekking routes of the region. Its beauty is still unexplored by the enthusiastic trekkers. Chandernahan Trek can also be ranked as trekker’s paradise. The trek starts from the heritage village Janglikh and winds through the beautiful meadows, thick forests, grassy land ascents where the pabbar valley exposes the view of the whole surroundings snow clad mountains, the waterfall and seven glacial ponds of Chandernahan which is the source of pabbar river. The mountains around are covered with snow till the end of June-July gives a glimpse of Alpenglow at sunrise and sunset. To reach Chandernahan you have to take a taxi or bus from Shimla to Rohru, then one night you can stay at Chirgaon and next day you have to reach janglikh village from where you will be starting your trek.
